3 Local Experts on

Short Term Rental & Airbnb Property Management

Dawn Barnholdt-Jackson Parker | Michelle Clark | Eric Kouvolo

Come hear the panel speak about managing short-term rentals / airbnbs.

What does it really take to manage your own rentals?  What are the benefits of hiring a professional STR Property Manager? and what is it like to build a sizable STR property management company to sell?  Our panel includes STR property managers who have these experiences and can speak to all the considerations for short-term rental property management.  Whether you are an investor thinking about managing your own rentals or someone interested in short-term property management as a career - the panel will provide great insights and perspectives.

Michelle Clark  Growing up in Eastern Washington, Michelle Clark’s love of homes began at a young age. As a child she could often be found following her dad around, acting as his carpenter’s assistant while he worked on building the family home. After she graduated from high school, The Foster School of Business at the University of Washington called her west of the mountains to Seattle.  This led to getting her real estate license 25 years ago, immediately after purchasing her first home in the Fremont neighborhood and falling in love with the process. Michelle is also a serial entrepreneur and pioneer, most notably founding the first boutique vacation rental management company in Seattle. She is also very proud of her work creating a non-profit serving adolescents and their families. The program serves 13-24 years olds in early recovery and their families, with no family ever being turned away due to financial insecurity.

Dawn Barnholdt-Jackson Parker  Dawn is the owner of From Dust til Dawn Cleaning and Management Services, Inc.  She manages a portfolio of short-term rentals for clients all over Whatcom and Skagit County.  Her business is quickly growing due to her attention to detail, excellent customer service and a client-focused approach to managing short- and mid- term rentals for property owners.  Dawn started her business as a house cleaner in 2010. One day, a gentleman called her and said that her name had been suggested as a contact to help him with his VRBO. Dawn's words to him were, "What's a VRBO?" 6 months later, she was Howard's full-time rental cleaner and at the same time, he was teaching her how to run the website so that she could take care of things for him when he took his trips to Mexico. This started Dawn's dream of strictly managing vacation rentals! Today, she is full-time management and cleaning approximately 17 vacation rentals in Whatcom county, with at least one more that should be completed before Summer as well as possibly branching out into King county.  Her next goal? Having her OWN vacation rental! (Currently in the works in her back yard!)

Eric Kouvolo   "It's not about money, it's about Freedom!"  Eric graduated university with a finance degree, but an internship at a ski resort set him on a different path.  Rather than going to Wall Street and working the traditional career, he has created a life around his passion of skiing and living life on his own terms.

After reading two life changing books, he jumped into real estate and privatized banking in 2011.  Eric has been a lifetime entrepreneur and an Airbnb Superhost for over 12 years.  He is also an Authorized Infinite Banking Practitioner at the Nelson Nash Institute and is knowledgeable in Austrian economics.  With a passion to help others break free from the rat race, Eric shares his knowledge of how becoming your own banker can create financial freedom for you and generations to follow.
